This initiative demonstrates the Malaysian government’s commitment to improving the welfare of its people amidst the rising cost of living. The increased allocation for STR Phase 1 reflects the government’s effort to address inflationary pressures


Eligibility Criteria for STR 2025

The following criteria apply to STR recipients to ensure aid reaches the right groups:

a. Households:

i. Married; or
ii. Single parent/widow/widower/divorcee with eligible children; and
iii. Monthly household income below RM5,000.

b. Senior Citizens Without Spouse:

i. Single, or a single parent/widow/widower/divorcee without eligible children;
ii. Aged 60 years and above; and
iii. Monthly income below RM5,000.

c. Single Individuals:

i. Unmarried, or a single parent/widow/widower/divorcee without eligible children;
ii. Aged 21–59 years;
iii. Disabled individuals (OKU) aged 19 years and above;
iv. Not a full-time student in public or private higher learning institutions; and
v. Monthly income below RM2,500.

How to Check STR 2025 Status

You can check your STR eligibility online. Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official STR website here: https://bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my.
  2. On the homepage, click [CLOSE] for the latest updates.
  3. Enter your 12-digit MyKad number (without dashes) in the provided field.
  4. Click [Log In].
  5. For MyKad verification, click [Check].
  6. Your security phrase will appear. Click [Yes] if it is correct.
  7. Enter your registered password.
  8. Your profile page will appear.
  9. Click [Application Status].
  10. Scroll down and click [2025 Check].
  11. At the bottom, click [Payment Information].
  12. Your Phase 1 Payment Status will be displayed.

Forgot MySTR Login Password

If you forgot or need to reset your password, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Reset MySTR Password link:
    https://bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my/TerlupaKataLaluan.aspx?.
  2. You will be directed to the Security Question page.
  3. Enter your MyKad Number and click [Check].
  4. Enter the email address you used during registration and click [Next].
  5. A temporary password will be sent to your registered email.
  6. Check your email and log back into MySTR.
  7. Enter your 12-digit MyKad Number and verify your security phrase.
  8. Use the temporary password to log in and set a new password.
  9. Once updated, log into the MySTR portal as usual.
